A Tale of Two Elmos written by McMillian Moody is another hit. I have really enjoyed all the books in this series. They continue to be laugh out loud funny. I love his characters. They are just so believable. I didn't want to put the book down. I feel like I know the characters. They are my friends. I love the fact that M. Moody's books have a mystery in them. The way they go about solving them are hilarious. I love the way God uses everyday people to get His message across. It was an inspiring book. I plan to recommend this book to all my friends. It is nice to have good clean books to read. Can't wait for another book to see how Elmo is doing.

#4 begins with Elmo celebrating his fifth anniversary with First Church. Bonnie becomes pregnant; Elmo is asked to lead a mission trip to Papua New Guinea; and of course there's a lot going on at First Church, including a new pastor and his lackey. Bob "Big Bird" gets arrested for a spate of robberies that seem to be focused on First Church members when the investigators find stolen goods and financial records in his trunk. Again, Elmo to the rescue when he cracks the code (literally) and solves the case. The Radio Guy is another mystery Elmo solves, albeit not on his own. One adage from the Radio Guy that struck me was the one about the christmas lights and the power outage for the town. The man had a contest with his neighbor each year over who had the most lights on his tree, so of course he goes crazy one year and puts thousands on his, causing a power outage on Christmas Eve for the town (and I think a few surrounding towns). Takes teams of workers to try and put it back, but in the meantime people celebrate Christmas powerless...and in the end, he gets thank-you notes from people who reconnected with their families, playing board games, talking about Christmases past, etc...all because they lost power. Now, there's a tradition that he gets to head up each year: he turns off the power for an hour, and the people of that city "gather together in their homes and worship the one true Light" (loc 13134 from the collection)

As always a delightful read. We are always thinking about the moral decay of some of our media presentations on life, sex, killing, rape etc. but reading Moody's book gives you hope that all is not lost in our world. The characters are great, the storyline terrific, and the endings masterful. I would hope that more people bought and read this book to find the delightful way reading use to be. Thank you McMillian Moody.

Elmo is growing up, both in our physical world and in his spiritual walk. This book takes the reader into the operations of a good sized church in a medium-large city and we are introduced into what a Pastor of Inclusion does as a new Sunday morning service is begun. Oh yes, in the book we learn about a young couple dealing with in-laws, a first baby, as well as leading a short-term team into a third world missions trip. This book is both humorous and informative. It is a quick read with a strong message!

Another great book in the series to make us laugh as we learn. Five years have passed since the last book, and First Church begins to put into practice Elmo's research to bring the church up to being a contemporary church while maintaining work with the new but meshing together the new & the old, the young & mature. He finds that each need each other, you need both if you want to succeed. He becomes a father & learns the gratitude of the love and generosity of the congregation to himself & his family. Each morning on the radio he listens to devotions that he tells everyone about & that they should listen. He obsesses about finding out who the 'Radio Guy' is, & the answer is one of the biggest laughs. The series concludes with showing us how to be Christ Following examples & contributors to our own congregation that the lost would find their way to God.I will never forget Erlene & Stumpy with the trouble they cause at the nursing home; or Eddie the supposed 'ladies man' who joins Weight Watchers to meet women. There is no end to the humor we see in others & even a glimpse into ourselves.

Having followed Elmo from Seminary School until now has been an interesting adventure. Each character has a well developed background. There is suspense as the book continues to follow the church happenings behind-the-scenes with the church staff. It seems real and has a lot of fun moments to keep you entertained. I loved the series and look forward to reading more by this author. His style and wording is simple and basic. Sometimes, there was thought provoking discourses and even some "aha" moments. It's an easy read and although Christian Fiction, maintained my attention!😁👏 If you like Christian Fiction, give this book a try!

This was the fourth in the Elmo series. I purchased the second in a book provider offer, but decided I wanted to read the first one before commencing with the second. So I purchased it, and then read the second, and I HAD to read the third and finally this one, in quick succession! I so wanted to continue reading about First Church, Elmo, and all the other characters that come to life in these pages. M. Moody intertwines the characters within the stories in such a realistic way that you just want to be in their friendship circle. As one who has grown up in the church inside and outside the pews, he is right on about the workings of a true Bible-believing church. The church is made up of sinners, including those who lead the flock. There was nothing irreverent about these characters; the author introduces the reader to some humble, yet normal and fun-loving church leaders who strive to live godly lives and lead with love and wisdom. Nothing sugar-coated. A glimpse of real people in real roles. A wonderful, and at times, hilarious read!

This is a great Christian series if you are looking for a clean read. This is book four in a four book series and they were all endearing, enchanting, and delightful in the deliverance of story line and characters. This is sure to be a hit with you if you want a wholesome read.
